The TP0969 Family [Function: Biogenesis / Secretion] Seed alignment | Full alignment

The spirochete bacterium Treponema pallidum ssp. pallidum is the etiological agent of syphilis, a chronic multistage disease. Using Electrospary Ionization Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS/MS), TP0969 was identified as an outer membrane protein.Furthermore, TP0969 was predicted as an outer membrane ß barrel by CELLO, PSORT, HHomp and PRED-TMBB prediction algorithms and has a signal peptide based on Signal-CF and SignalP 4.1 prediction algorithms. TP0969 protein shows structural homology with TolC like protein.
